What's an Aivilo, anyway?
Originally, Aivilo Charlotte Designs was an online bag boutique, and I sold bags and purses made by me. But, as a SAHM, I felt quite guilty neglecting my preschool-aged daughter while I toiled in my own little sweatshop. I realized that my favorite part of my business was coming up with new and interesting bag designs. I also found myself constantly encouraging people to be creative, since it brings such joy to my life, and wanted to incorporate that into my work as well. After some reorganization, Aivilo Charlotte Designs was re-born in late 2007 as a source for easy to follow sewing tutorials. I love hearing that my tutorials have taught people to sew things they never thought they could and given them more confidence in their skills!
Aivilo Charlotte Designs is named for my oldest daughter, Olivia Charlotte. (Aivilo is Olivia spelled backwards.) Our family has also been blessed with two other little girls recently: Lucy in 2008 and Flora in 2010. We are thrilled with our three girls, and no, we're not going to try for a boy!
